What to do right now
Do
- Try a different, known-working charger and power outlet, if you have one.
- Check the charging cable isn't visibly damaged or bent at the connector.
- If the battery is removable, try powering on with just the charger connected.
- Note exactly what you saw or heard (lights, fan noise, beeps) before calling — it helps us diagnose faster.
Don't
- Don't keep repeatedly pressing the power button for long periods — it doesn't help and can be a sign of a component drawing incorrect power.
- Don't open the laptop yourself if you're not experienced with it — you can void a manufacturer warranty or dislodge a connector.
- Don't leave it on charge unattended if it's behaving unusually — unplug it and get it checked.
